My Opinion About Nauli Kriya Movement

A few days ago, an Online News Media – detikHealth – represented by a journalist named Fadjar Nur, revealed that there was a video that was being discussed on Social Media. The video shows a woman performing the Nauli Kriya Movement – one of the movements known in the Yoga World – by bending down, contracting the stomach, and moving the stomach left and right. This video makes many people feel curious, and “scared”, and question the safety of doing this movement.

For this matter, detikHealth and Fadjar asked me about Nauli Kriya.

I explain to Fadjar and detikHealth that I often do the Nauli Kriya Movement regularly at the Basic Level.

I do the Nauli Kriya Movement because this movement is useful for:
- Strengthening the abdominal muscles and surrounding organs. Our strong stomach muscles can detect when we are hungry and when we are full in an appropriate way.
- Massaging the stomach and surrounding organs so that the digestive process is always smooth. The broken digestive process will make us unhealthy.

I know about 2 types of Nauli Kriya Movement:
- Nauli Kriya Movement – Basic Level: Everyone can do this move because it's easy and safe. Although this movement can be done by anyone under any conditions, it should not be done if the body is not healthy. This simple and easy-to-understand movement is done by tightening all the muscles in the stomach and relaxing the stomach.
- Nauli Kriya Movement – Advance Level: This movement must be done by a trained person. The person who performs this movement must also be guided and accompanied by a properly trained Guru. This movement should not be performed by people who are sick, have health problems, or have just undergone surgery. This difficult movement is done by bending the body, deflating the stomach, pressing the left stomach inward, and pressing the right stomach inward.

I emphasize that the Nauli Kriya Movement should not be done without proper practice and without being guided by the right Guru. If the Nauli Kriya Movement is carried out carelessly, then several risks will occur to the body of the person who does it:
- Stomach cramps
- Pain in the stomach
- Dizzy
- Nauseous
- Vomit
- Diarrhea

I also add that the Nauli Kriya Movement at any level should be performed on an empty stomach. The Nauli Kriya movement should not be performed by people who have stomach complaints, such as injuries and post-surgery conditions.
